The cat's meow

When I was back in Cranbrook I picked up a t-shirt Cam left for me.  I mentioned I would get around to writing something about it, and here it is!

I like it because there is a cat on it.  Cam totally gets me.

It's been quite a while since Cam and I hung out as he thinks I'm still a large.  Wrong century dude!  I'll try it on anyway though.

Like a glove!  I can wear it, but who needs to breathe?  Also, I promise that these are the last bathroom selfies you'll see of me.

Believe it or not I am actually sucking my gut in.  Just do yourself a favour and look at my awesome phone cover instead.

Well thanks for thinking of me Cam, I'm sure I can get that sucker stretched out just to wear around the house.

Hair goals

Cody came back to Calgary on Sunday and we both had the day off on Monday, so we went to see a movie.  I asked him if he wanted to see one and he said sure.  I suggested Terminator, Minions or Ant-Man.  He said not Terminator, so I said MINIONS!  Then he said no because there will be kids  there.  So I said Ant-Man?  Not sure why he just didn't say it when I asked him the first time.  Also, there were kids at Ant-Man.

At Westhills there were showing Ant-Man only in standard 2D and only fancified 3D, not just regular 3D, so we ending up watching it in AVX  3D Dolby ATMOS.  I'm not even sure what that is, but they charge you more for it.  A mantinee show was $18.75 and I refused to pay that much for a ticket, so I just used some of my Scene points and got a free ticket.  Honestly, it's not even worth paying more as it doesn't make the movie any more enjoyable.  Even though the ticket $18.75 they couldn't figure out how to focus the damn projector.  The first trailer for some lame Chris Pine movie was all blurry as hell and Cody had to go out and complain.  Luckily, they got their shiat together so we could watch the 3D Star Wars trailer.

Anyway, Ant-Man was good.  It's not a superhero movie, it's a superhero heist movie.  It's also pretty funny.  Don't forget to sit through the first section of credits to see the secret scene.  It's way better than Terminator Sega Genysis!

Then we got home from the movie there was a package for me in the mail that was a movie I ordered like forever ago.  It was postmarked June 1st, but I just received it yesterday which is ridiculous.  So Monday night we watched BLACK BELT II: FATAL FORCE which is some ludicrous mash up of a couple movies.  It didn't make a lot of sense, but it was fun to watch.  Plus this guy's hair!

Guest star

When I was back in Cranbrook Willie asked if I wanted to go see the new Terminator movie at the late show.  That is way past my bed time and I was getting ready and whatnot to head back to Calgary in the morning, so I didn't go.  I did ask him to let me know how it was though.  So here is Willie's "review" of Terminator: Genisys or as Willie calls it...TERMINATOR 5: Sega Genisys.
Where Jurassic World knocked it out of the park with the way they paid homage to the original movie yet went in a new direction and succeeded, Terminator 5 at times was only a single, with moments of a double and even a triple. Too many baseball references? Anyways, parts of it were good. I liked how they sorta Back To The Future 2'd it by going back to the original movie setting and messing around with things. The end part, after a bunch of the credits, was stupid...so stupid. There's also a plot point that NEVER gets explained, which bugged me less than the after-credits stuff.
Thanks Willie!

Pick ups

As you already know I have lots of crap and going back to Cranbrook I always end up bringing more stuff back with me because Cranbrook is boring and I end up going to the thrift stores and second hand stores for something to do.  It's not my fault they have cheap cool crap.  I just look at it like I'm stimulating the local economy.  You're welcome!

Because I have nothing to watch I just bought a couple, or ten movies.  There are from the Hospital Aux, Aabco, Twice as Nice, Salvation Army and the thrift store in Marysville!

As you can see Repossessed is a VHS tape, which I bought at the Hospital Aux, but it has an Aabco sticker on the back.  No Problem 2 also came from the Hospital Aux and is a Japanese/Chinese movie and also a bootleg!   Unfortunately, the Bob and Doug DVD did not come with the bottle opener and now that I think about it, I might already have this one.  The Tekken blu-ray is to upgrade from my bootleg copy.  Also, got a few 80's flick in there because the 80's were radical.

Here is a Keith thrift store tip for you, the thrift store in Marysville is crazy ass cheap for for media.  DVDs are only $1 which is where I got Power Rangers and Speed Racer.  CDs are 50 cents each and cassette tapes are 10 for $1!  VHS tapes are 5 for a $1 and LPs are something like 10 for $1.  Selection is limited, but prices are insane.

Fat Boys CD from Aabco and a Rilo Kiley CD from the Salvation Army.

The Hospital Aux had a bunch of old game guides so I picked up Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Mario Kart, Astro Boy and The Punisher.  I also got a beat up old Uncle Scrooge comic.

A sexy glass from Twice as Nice.  I'd feel dirty just putting it up to my lips and drinking from it.  It looks pretty damn old, so I'll just look at it because I don't want the picture falling off and looking any worse.

That's it for now, looks like I'll be busy watching movies for the next week.

Big time movie news!

I'm back in Calgary!  Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but it's back to work tomorrow.  Cranbrook was Cranbrook and while Willie was busy, I briefly saw him on Monday and on Tuesday afternoon I went out to Cody's and we did some filming.

Tuesday morning I went to the Salvation Army and bought a new sealed old school 8mm video tape which worked out perfect because Cody brought back his old camcorder and that's what we used.  We forgot how much work filming can be especially when you are unprepared like we were.  It was fun as we were just goofing off like we used to back in the olden days.  Wish we had more time to do more and do what we did better.  We did manage to film enough that it might be able to be cobbled together into a  somewhat cohert "story".  I'm not saying it's going to be good, in fact it will be terrible.  You'd think by now we'd be a little better at it.  The good news is that it will be short.   Look for it in the coming weeks!

I texted Cody and asked him if we needed anything for the video before I came out, this is what he replied.  Told you we were unprepared.

Who's side are you on?

Since I'm back in Cranbrook I decided to hit up a few stores and got more awesome, yet useless crap.  Got another stack of DVDs to add to the massive collection back in Calgary.  Got some books that I might even read one day too.  While out and about I found some ridiculous boys t-shirts from the 70's that were still sealed in the bags.

Wow.  They were so stupid I almost bought one for Avery, but someone else had opened one of the packages and unfortunately they were turtlenecks.  The 70's remember, they were cool back then.  I saw these at Twice as Nice which has thankfully been completely reorganized making actually finding stuff a lot easier.  Should've been done a LONG time ago.

The Townsman for July 13, 2015 and no the image has not been altered in any way.

Pics of stuff

Here are few pictures I took at the lake on the weekend.

The filthy contaminated beach where the smelter used to be.  It's toxic, so stay away!

The view from the top of the Pilot Bay lighthouse.

Looking down the staircase of death (part 2) that leads to the top of the lighthouse.  That thing is steep!

Some green stuff.

Dude catching some rays at the beach.

I came back at the wrong time because next weekend is the Starbelly Jam in Crawford Bay.  I have no idea what that is, but it sounds like some totally hippie love in.  Yuck.  Next year we should all show up in suits and briefcases and wonder around talking about insurance and stocks and how we should mainstream the festival.  That'll freak 'em out.

So long forever...

We had an inflatable dingy, but then the wind came up and it blew away.

Maybe it's over here, or over here...or over here?

Cat's meow

FYI, I made it back.  I was a long, boring and hot drive back to Cranbrook.  I felt like I needed a shower after the drive.  Instead I went to pick up my awesome cat t-shirt from Cam and Cara!  Pictures coming soon.  Speaking of cats, here is a pic of our insanely feral barn cat, Connor.

Just kidding, he is totally cool.  He is probably the most mellow and friendly barn cat ever.  He'll rub on your leg, roll around on the ground so you can rub his tummy, he purrs and he likes Avery because Avery carries him around like a baby.  He obviously belonged to someone at some point in time, but now he lives in our barn.  Also, for a barn cat, my mom feeds him pretty expensive cat food.

Mucho

Tomorrow morning I'm heading back to Cranbrook for a week.  I will go over to Kootenay Lake for the weekend, but not sure what else I'll end up doing.  I think I have to look after Avery on Monday, but other than that no concrete plans.  I'm sure I can find something to do.

I'd like to leave early on the morning, so I can get my drive over with before it gets too hot out.  I was checking out how the weather for Cranbrook looks for the next week and it doesn't look that bad, except for the start of the week.  I hope it is warmer over at the lake on the weekend because I'm not bringing back, a jacket, pants or socks.

You can get check Instagrump as I'll try to post lots of pictures, eventually one of them will be interesting.

But before I leave I gotta check out the new Mucho Burrito!  When the old Taco Bell closed over in West Hills it sucked, but Cody and I were pretty excited when they put up a "Mucho Burrito coming soon" banner on the front of the building.  Of course, this was way back in the fall and over time we even wondered if it was actually going to open or not.  I guess they wanted to make it authentic and brought in migrant workers from Mexico, but they finally opened just the other day.

The past couple times I've eaten at Mucho Burrito up in Aspen I'm gone with the Taco Trio and while it is good, I'm always still hungry afterwards.   This time I went all out and got a "mucho" size burrito.  As you can guess "mucho" is the biggest size you can get and I'm not joking, I think the thing weighed 5 lbs.  It's pretty big!  Mucho Burrito is a big upgrade from Taco Bell, I look forward to going back again.

Adios!

Fuds

Check out what Cody found today at Co-op...

...Berry Berry Kix!  We thought maybe the delivery truck got lost, but the box has English and French on it, so looks like General Mills finally brought it north of the border.  Better stock up now before they change their minds.

And while your getting your Kix pick up some Source Greek yogurt, Apple Pie flavour!  I almost bought cherry, but then quickly tossed it aside when I saw the apple pie.  It's limited edition too, so grab 'em while you can.

In other food news, the Mucho Burrito over in Westhills finally opened!  We'll be eating there soon.

BEE-DO

I bet you guys all ran out and watched the movie, Minions on opening night, but I haven't seen it yet.  Maybe on Monday though!  Anyway, to help tide me over until then I got a Minions Kinder Surprise.

I promise the other pictures aren't as blurry as this one.

Well, that's a pretty lazy Minion toy, I expect more from Kinder.  Oh wait, that's just the capsule that has the toy inside.

So many pieces!

Better consult the instructions, I don't want to mess this up.

I did it!

He'll look good next to my other "minions".

The end.
