The big reveal
Luckily, I didn't get Lisa or Maggie, I got Mr. Burns!
He comes with a radioactive rod and a fish bowl with the three eyed fish in it as well as a base stand. My dream is to get Itchy and Scratchy.
The good news is that Admiral Ackbar now has a best bud and I'm talking about the fish, not Mr. Burns.

L'eggo my Lego
Lego has been branching out with it's sets to include lots of licensed properties like Star Wars, DC, Marvel and even stuff from Back to the Future and Ghostbusters. Looking to further mine customer's wallets Lego has announced new Simpsons kits. I haven't seen any kits in stores because I haven't looked for them, but I did see the Lego Simpsons mini figure packs. I totally bought one.
I like that each one comes with an accessory and I like that Grandpa comes with a copy of the Springfield Shopper with the headline "OLD MAN YELLS AT CLOUD".
Of course you don't know which one of the sixteen you are going to get. Will it be the one you want? Probably not! Guess which one I got. I said guess dammit!!

Another Hockey Night in Cranbrook
Recently I've been collecting hockey cards for Avery. I gave him a bunch of my old common base cards and some pages for them. They are pretty much worthless, but I've also gotten him some better cards, like some might be worth $10! I got this card in the mail today for him that you won't find at your local card shop.
Remember this guy? This card is from when Brad played a season in Nottingham, England for the GMB Nottingham Panthers.
I found the card at a Canadian online card place. They had two in stock, so I bought them both and kept one for me, they cost $2.00 each. The same place charges $1.00 for a Scott Niedermayer rookie card, so Brad's card is worth more than Scott Niedermayer's who has won every major hockey championship and is in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Nice one, Brad. Brad doesn't play hockey now, but he's an assistant coach for the Youngstown Phantoms. My mom has his Phantoms card on her fridge.

it's Party TIME!
These Oreo Birthday Cake versions of the ice cream sandwiches are much better than their cookie counterparts. The original Oreo ice cream sandwiches are still way better though, again just like the cookies. I think Nabisco should make a double stuf version of the Oreo ice cream sandwich. That would be so awesome.

Hockey Night in Cranbrook
Last time I was back in Cranbrook I mentioned that I saw a poster at Pages advertising that the Hanson Brothers were going to be playing at The Byng. Willie went! Now read all about it!
They were one of the many bands I had heard about but never heard before and now The Hanson Brothers are off that list. On Welching Day evening (also known as Better Thursday because it falls right before Good Friday) The Hanson Brother's played The Byng Roadhouse and Bar here in Cranbrook, B.C. Canada. Due to Welching Day festivities we arrived later than expected and was surprized (but not really) that they had yet to strike a power chord. Once they did I understood why I had heard only good things about the band. It took me back to the days when a young 16-24-ish old me would attend all these punk shows around town at various halls and spaces that would rent to young people. The drums were thumping, the bass was rumbling, the guitar was in your face and like those punk shows of my youth, the vocals were not quite loud enough. Which makes writing this review a bit difficult: I don't remember any lyrics and I didn't see/score a setlist so I can't tell you what exact songs they did. I can, however, tell you that they were blistering numbers that kept the dancefloor moving including two (out of 5) Cranbrook Hipsters attempting their version of moshing by "chest bumping" each other. My friend Ferdy was a referee and I only noticed him giving The Hanson Brothers one penalty, but I'm sure there were many missed calls as they were quite intense. It was a high-energy show in a perfect venue and while it would have been nice to have the vocals at the same level as all the other instruments, it did bring a legit punk-rock feeling to the show. This is what we are given, this is what we are using, we are going to rock no matter what so you better be ready. I know I'll be ready when they play here again.
They
There you have it. I think that is all Willie had to say despite the whole thing ending with a "They". I sent him an e-mail and he didn't reply, so I'm assuming it's all good. I was also told there would be pictures, but there were none. I trimmed out a poster I found online.
Willie also picked me up a CD and a t-shirt. I'll get them whenever I get to Cranbrook next. Along with my change! There better be change.

I can't have nice things.
I came home from work this afternoon and then I went back out and when I was getting in my car I noticed I had a huge scuff on the side of my car.
I'm not sure when exactly it happened, probably Friday and Saturday night. I parked on the street last night, but the position of the ding seems more like something I would get in the parking lot. So there's a chance I got it Friday at work or maybe even Thursday. Usually, I just get in my car, it's not like I walk around and inspect it every time I get in it. I just noticed it today because when I was walking to it in the parking lot at home had a clear view of the side.
I wiped all the dust and dirt off the scrapes and it doesn't look as bad, it still sucks though. It's mostly scrapes, but there is a dent on the left hand side. What can you do?

Never let your guard down
Things have been pretty quiet on the rabbit front here since last fall. I only saw rabbits maybe twice all winter even though whenever it snowed there were plenty of tracks in the fresh snow. The snow is finally gone and the rabbits are back!
I came home from work today to find two rabbits waiting for me. The first one was eating the grass near where I parked my car on the main street. When I parked some lady was walking up the side walk and walked right by him, maybe two feet away, and he didn't even flinch.
He is all scruffy looking because he's in the midst of losing his white winter coat. This rabbit actually looks pretty cute.
Now this is the scary ass rabbit! He's the crazed bug eyed one that freaks me out. He's also super strict when comes to parking regulations. He WILL tow your vehicle!

From the "Never got made" files
I was looking at the crap piled in various places around my room and wondering what the hell to do with it when I spotted a Spider-Man figure in the the corner. I had bought it at a dollar store with the plans of doing a blog post about it...like four years ago.
You can't really see why I ended up buying it because that would require another post. Does anyone want to see why? I'm hoping you don't because that would mean I might have to clean the package.
It's a "little" dusty.

Mad loot yo!
I almost forgot to show you guys what loot my Mom brought me back from Italy. I forgot to ask her for some real authentic Italian spaghetti, so I ended up with this stuff instead.
I asked my mom for some fridge magnets when she went on a trip somewhere else, Mexico I think, so she brought me some magnets back from Italy. Five of them!
I'm pretty sure ww have Vans over here in Canada, but she got me this t-shirt from an actual Vans store.
A t-shirt with a scooter on it! In Italy everyone drives Ferraris, Lambos, and Alfa Romeos and if you can't afford those then you drive a Vespa, it's a fact!
Some "Italia" socks to go with my t-shirts in a three pack with black, white and grey colours. They are the little funny looking ankle socks.

Big Babol! I'm pretty that is the name of the gum and has nothing to do with that chick on the package. I think there is a sticker inside.
That's it!!

Da funk
As I've said before when I get bored on the internet I end up buying something online. The other night I was bored and ended up over at Bandcamp and while I didn't buy anything (this time!) I did get free stuff! I haven't heard of 99.9% of the bands on Bandcamp, so when I'm browsing them I usually pick bands based solely on album art. You go through a lot of crap to find something decent. Everything is digital, but you might be able to get a physical version in CD, vinyl or cassette...maybe. Some bands charge set prices for music, some bands let you pick what price you want to pay and the awesome bands just give you the music for free(download only duh). I downloaded a couple albums for free because I like not paying money for stuff.
I was bored and browsing the electronic section and found a cool chiptune band and also found this following track from Professor Kliq. I like it. I embedded it. Get your groove on. Bandcamp.

I should!
And I did!!
You'll remember I saw these two kitten posters at the Hospital Auxiliary thrift store when I was back in Cranbrook last. At the time I wasn't sure if I should get them or not and five minutes after I left the store without them I realized I should've gotten them. I mean...kittens! This should've been a non-decision from the start., kitten poster = instant buy.
Luckily, they were still there the next day (whew!) and I bought before I left town. The two posters were $3 for the pair which is so cheap. The frames actually have glass in them, so they're worth the $3 for the frames themselves regardless of what was in them.
I hung them over my bed because that wall is blank with nothing on it. On second thought maybe it would be better they had frames with plastic instead of glass. If they fall off the wall on me in the middle of the night it's going to hurt. That's going to look pretty lame on my obituary, "Killed by falling kitten poster." Oh well, live by the sword, die by the sword.
