I'm a disgrace

I was at the thrift store today and bought some Quicksilver shorts for $4, but I'll probably have to wait until next summer to wear them, and I got Borderlands (it's a video game) for $3.  I already have Borderlands for the Xbox 360, but I bought it again because this one is the PC version and I wanted to see how it would look on my new laptop.

Borderlands came out in 2009, so it is a few years old and should be able to run on my laptop.  I read the requirements on the back of the case and my laptop easily meets them.  When I got home I installed and started the game and then thought, "Hey, this looks crappy!".  For some reason it starts all on low settings, so I went in the visual options and turned a bunch of stuff on, set stuff to "High", set the monitor resolution up and damned if it didn't look pretty good.  It plays fine too, smooth and no chugging, so that's a plus.  There were a couple video settings that I had no idea what the hell they were, so I didn't touch them.  Maybe it will look better?  Cam what do they do?!

If you didn't know Borderlands is a FPS/RPG game were you shoot and kill guys/things and take their loot.  After I installed the game I started playing it...with a controller!  That is right, I'm "that guy" who plays a FPS game on a PC with a controller and not a keyboard and mouse.  Millions of PC fanboys are face palming right now.

The game is compatible with the Xbox 360 controller, so I just plugged it into a USB port and started playing.  The controller isn't affecting my playing so far, in fact the game seems a lot easier than the Xbox 360 version.  That might be because I've already played it before, but so far I'm dropping dudes and haven't even been close to getting killed.

I'm just too dumb to play with a keyboard.  It just feels too weird and I'd spend more time looking at the keyboard than at the game.  I'll stick with my controller because it's what I'm used to, so I'll stick with what I know.  I'd too old and set in my ways to change now.  I think the last games I've put in a lot of time in on the PC were probably Tie Fighter and Doom 2 back in the old days on Cam's computer.  Yep, that long ago.

Awesome lensflare. I was gonna say, remember Tie Fighter? You couldn't play that with a controller. Then you mentioned it at the end. That game was awesome!

Tie Fighter sort of had a controller as you used the joystick along with the keyboard. Although you had to calibrate it once in awhile or you'd be drifting around.

The lensflare was from the flash on my phone and totally unintentional. It looked cool, so I didn't even try taking another picture to fix it.

If you are a big lensflare fan then I suggest you go watch the new Total Recall remake or as I dubbed it, Total Lensflare. It is ridiculous.
