As you'll remember last spring my TV crapped out on me, so I had to go out and buy a new one. Well, once again I am lacking in funds as I went out and bought a new laptop. My old laptop still works, but it's very unreliable at this point.
I've had my old laptop for four years now and even when I got it, it was a lower mid-range model. It's very slow now and does weird stuff once in a while, but I keep using it anyway. The other night I had it on and was e-mailing myself some pictures, mostly rabbit pictures, from my phone when an error message popped up on screen. I had to restart my computer and run the repair mode a few times before it said the problem was unfixable, then it turned off. It was late, so I just went to bed. The next day after I got home I turned it on and hoped for the best and luckily it booted up. I immediately went in and transferred all my pictures, music, etc to flash drives just in case. This is exactly why I don't like buying digital music! If my laptop had totally crashed then I wouldn't have been able to recover my music that I'd paid for, and I'd be screwed. After copying my files I also removed a bunch of miscellaneous programs, then I shut it down.
Over an hour later I came back to my room to find my computer still shutting down. It was stuck on the "Shutting Down" screen and it stayed there. I just unplugged it and left the battery to wear down to shut it down that way. The battery on my old laptop was almost toast too, as it would only last half an hour. After that I decided it would probably be a good idea to get a new laptop before the old one completely dies. I made a quick impulse decision and bought the first laptop I saw. The end!
I don't know that much about computers and whatnot, so I asked Cam for advice and he said to go Wal-Mart because that is where Cara got her laptop. Cam and Cara shop at Wal-Mart?! What happened, you guys used to be cool!
I got an Acer, which aren't the best, but my choice seemed okay spec wise when compared to other laptops at that price point. I've got it all set up for the most part right, I'm just figuring out how to use Windows 8. Apps? Charms? WTH? I'm also going to have to get a new wireless mouse as I hate using the track/touch pad. I never used it on my old laptop, it's just weird.
Also, AMD is running some deal when you buy a computer with one of their chips you get a free download for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Sweet! Oh wait, I already have that game on my Xbox. I was kinda stoked to find out my laptop could even play that game until I started looking and my laptop just meets the minimum requirements. Damn it, I don't want to play on the lowest settings, so I'm not sure if I'll even install it. It would just be a waste. Maybe Cara can play it on her Wal-Mart special?

Pff, I never used to be cool.
My Wal-Mart special more than meets the minimum requirements to play yahtzee or spider solitaire.
