While I was back in Cranbrook I got a treat that Cam and Cara picked up for me in Seattle. It was in a little brown paper bag which means they didn't spend very much on me.
When I looked inside I found this Japanese novelty. At first I was sure what it even was until I saw a sticker of nutritional ingredients on the backside, it is chocolate. I wasn't sure if I had seen the character before, but I had seen the guy with the bun shaped head, big red nose and red super hero costume before.
After doing to research, Google and Wikipedia, I found out that sliced bread face guy is actually called Shokupanman and is a supporting character in Anpanman. Anpanman, the red nosed guy, started in Japan in 1973 as series of kids books, but then grew into everything they could merchandise out of him including toys, video games, clothes, cartoons and of course, snack food.
Now, I'm not sure what I should do with it. I could eat it because it's chocolate, but if I do eat it I'll never get another one until Cam and Cara go back to Seattle. I want to eat him, but he looks too cute. I can't decide!
PS ~ Cam and Cara, if you go back to Seattle see if you can find this.

Fun fact: we didn't even put it in a bag. The paper bag was a gift from Cam's mom.
Well, if that's the case then I will definitely eat it.
I think you should leave it on top of the fridge for a year and then eat it.
What's the worst that could happen?
Nice try Mike, but I already learned my lesson. I think I will go eleven months before eating it.
