Catz

I'm just letting everyone know that over at Kitten Rescue LA kitten cam they have a new family.  The kittens are still very small, they are only 11 days old.  They got little baby ewok faces.  It will be a few more weeks before they are walking and getting into real trouble.

Fixed??

I tried changing the wall paper on my phone as per Cam's suggestion, but now it's stuck on this.  For some reason now I don't even feel like using my phone at all.

Finally I'm free!!

The contract on my old phone finally ran out, so I decided to upgrade my phone and get a cheaper plan.  Since I don't actually use my phone that much (no friends) I didn't go all out and get the latest and greatest phone.  I ended up getting my phone at work from PC Mobile.

Behold the Samsung Galaxy S4!

That's right, I'm now hip to two years ago!  I got it because since I already had a Galaxy S2, so I'm somewhat familiar with it.  Also, I didn't want to have to pay and the S4 was free with the plan, so that solves that.  I have a better plan than what I had with my old Rogers one as now I have unlimited texts, more airtime and more bandwidth.  Since I went with PC Mobile I also get 25% off my monthly bill, so it will work out to just little more than half what I was paying Rogers.  In the end I get a better phone for less money than what I was paying for before.  I can live with that.

Alt rock

Remember these guys?  Well, technically it's always been Ryan Dahle, but he's back with a new album!  It's only been 15 years since the last one!!  I randomly stumbled across a review for it while casually looking for something completely different at some blog.  I was too lazy to drive to HMV to buy a copy, so I ordered a CD straight from the label.  I was hoping to at least get a sticker thrown in with my purchase, but there was nothing!  Damn, I remember in the old days you'd get free stickers when you ordered stuff from labels.  Once I ordered from Mint Records and got stickers, patches and a free sunglasses!  Gimme all the free stuff!

I'll leave with the video for Tinfoil from the golden heyday of alt rock which makes me "almost" miss the 90's.

50

I'm back!  I've had a few things to post about, but I decided to put them off as to give the Star Wars video more time at the top.  It pulled in a whopping 34 views and two thumbs up, one of which was from me.  It didn't get a thumbs down, so I guess that's all you can hope for.  Anyway, I'm here today to talk to you about Pop Tarts.

I guess Pop Tarts are 50 years old if this box is anything to go by.  That's the reason I picked them up as I can't even remember that last time I ate a Pop Tart.  In fact I've probably only eaten Pop Tarts a couple times in my entire life.

It tastes 50 years old!

They are easy make, put it in the toaster on the lowest setting, or microwave 2 -3 seconds.  2-3 seconds?  Why even bother?   I do remember why I never eat them, it's not that they're bad, it's just that they aren't that great.  Maybe it's the flavour, a fruity flavour might taste better.  Until Pop Tarts turn 75 years old I probably won't be giving them another try.

May the farce be with you

Cody and I both had the day off work today, so we went and filmed a video!  Sorry, Cam and Mike it's not the ninja bop bag video, it's something different, but still fun.  It's a bit more topical than the ninja bop bag, so we had to strike while the iron is hot so to speak.  Check it out!

I had to bug Cody to go back and do that Santa hat scene.  It totally works, but Cara still won't get it.

Just teasing you

I know you've probably all seen the new Star Wars teaser trailer, but I'm posting it just in case Cara hasn't watched it yet.   It's got some more of the same stuff from the first trailer, but lots of new stuff including a couple shots of Cam's new favorite character, the roller ball droid dude.  I think I actually like the new Stormtrooper designs.  Oh yeah, and a couple bros named Han and Chewie show up too.

Tomorrow the trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront is supposed to be released too!

Clause 15.18

I found this shoved in our back door the day.

They finally noticed the tin foil I put up in the living room back window to cut the glare on the TV.  Remember when I did that?  I don't see what the big deal is as it's not we live in a nice place or anything.  In fact, people should expect that kind of stuff from a place like this.  There should a clause in the rental agreement about having to put the tin foil or Bob Marley flag in a window.

Anyway, I took the tin foil down and now a tiny bit of sunlight comes in the back corner of the room and it seems so blinding.  I'm just not used to it yet.  We'll figure something out to black the room out again.  I wonder if they'd notice if we just bricked over that window?

Shasta McIalreadyusedthisone

Don't worry the ninja training bag is on the way...eventually.  I think I will do it up as a video which will be more work and take longer to get done because I'll need Cody's help.  We rarely have the same days off, so it might take some time.  Just keep bugging me about it, so I don't forget/get lazy.

Shasta McNasty

During my last whirlwind trip back to Cranbrook I made some time to go to Dollar Tree mostly because I wanted to pick up some Covered Bridge chips.  Sadly, they didn't have any chips, but that doesn't mean I didn't buy anything.

When I unpacked my car from the trip I set the Dollar Tree bag down on the floor by the microwave cart.  It's still there.

A super awesome and super scary zombie finger puppet!  Don't worry, it's "soft & safe".

A ninja training bag to help me keep my ninja reflexes sharp as a katana.

Diet Shasta!

The convenient four pack for when six is just too many.

I've got plans for all three of these items, making them happen is where I run into trouble.  The zombie finger puppet and the ninja bop bag will end up on the blog as either a photo series/story or possible even a (extremely) short video.  The Shasta I will simply drink, against my better judgement.   When you can buy a four pack of soda for $1.25 that seems a little sketchy.  Which one of this things do you want to see first?  Let me know and maybe it will motivate me to make is happen.

He was the Best!

I read today that actor James Best passed away Monday night, or as we all knew him, Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane.  Now I want to dig out my DVD sets and watch some Dukes of Hazzard.   Watch the old episodes where Rosco fakes being hurt in one his many car crashes and sues the Dukes, or when he's kidnapped and replaced with a evil lookalike Rosco, or the one where his car gets slowly destroyed throughout the episode until at the end it's only a frame, seat and steering wheel.   Classic stuff I tells ya!  I'm glad I ended up buying this poster when I did, now I'll definitely have to get it framed.

Over and out good buddy.

Not so eggscellent

You can file this one under "Stuff I was going to do, but never got around to".

I picked up this Star Wars Easter egg decorating kit and then planned on pimping out some eggs for an Easter blog post which obviously never happened.  As always I start off all hyped up to do something, but then realize it will require work and making a mess, so I put it off.  Now Easter is over.

Oh wait, did I mention I bought this for Easter LAST year?  I did and it has been shuffled around to various piles of crap in my room since then.  I guess I'll hold on to it for another year with the off chance that maybe I'll do it next Easter.  Or maybe I'll fool everyone and do it in August just for the for LOLs.

Eggscellent!

I'm pretty sure it is almost Easter which reminded me I should probably do something about the new and improved Cadbury Creme Eggs.  I think these probably hit store shelves the day after New Year's, but I didn't pick them up until then end of January.  I was going to do this way back then, but I then I ended up eating them before I got a chance to take pictures.  I eventually bought some new ones which sat on top of the microwave for quite a while and I put them away so I wouldn't be tempted to eat them.  Of course, out of sight, out of mind and I forgot about them.  Then I couldn't find where I stashed them, but finally found them last week while I was grabbing a fruit bar.  Got all that?

I can't believe it has taken this long to improve the crappy foil wrap we've been messing around with for years, but this new packaging is absolute genius.  The old foil wrap sucked because it was a pain to removie, would tear, leak, get sticky,  and if it was wrinkled the bar code wouldn't scan.  Those days are long gone!  I probably have also eaten a couple small slivers of tin foil that wouldn't completely peel off.  After fumbling with the foil wrap I would just give up and eat it anyway.

Seems easy enough.

Once you peel the halves apart, it is good to good.  Looks all fanciful like.

This is the new Fudgee-O Creme Egg and as you can see it's a chocolate egg filled with chocolatey fudge, so...chocolate.  I actually prefer the classic Creme Egg.

By now I'm sure you've all seem them, so this all seems a bit pointless now.  But the new packaging is pretty sweet, so if you haven't had one yet now is the best time because next week they'll all be clearance priced.  Even better!
