Look a cow

Been meaning to post something up for a while, but haven't gotten around to it due to watching movies and getting my ass kicked on Battlefront among other things.  But I'm back with the Foo Fighters!

I picked up this used Foo Fighters CD at Melodydia.  It's an import CD from Holland, hence the Live in Holland title.

So it's a double disc with only four tracks per disc?  Seems like a waste to me.  Disc one is titled Breakout and the second titled, Next Year.

Unfortunately, the set was missing the Next Year disc which totally sucks.  The live tracks, My Hero and Monkey Wrench, on that disc would've been really cool.  Instead it's a burned disc of FF(or 77?) music videos.

I popped the burned disc in my computer thinking it was a burned DVD, but it wasn't even that, it was a VCD.  Talk about old school.  The disc wouldn't even play in my computer, maybe modern computers can't handle the pixels of a VCD.  I tried in in my blu-ray player and it played about two minutes of the first video and then that was it.  The other thirteen files on the disc wouldn't even play, so it's coaster time.

The good news is that I noticed this before I bought it.  I showed the dude and he dropped the price down to $2.00.  Not sure if that was still a deal or not.

In other news, has anyone got the new Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck CD yet?  I saw it at Wal-Mart, but didn't get it.  I know it's all home demos and stuff, so I'm a little hesitant about picking it up just due to audio quality.  I guess there is a single disc version and a fancier double disc version available.  Maybe I'll just wait until that shows up a Melodyia.

Yep, even more Star Wars.

This is not a repeat!  I was looking at some cat video on YouTube this morning and then after it was finished in brought up other videos YouTube thought I would enjoy based on my viewing history.  One of those videos was a Star Wars Battlefront video!  At the official website they've released short videos showing off different game modes, planets, etc from the game.  LevelCapGaming took all those short videos and compiled it into one long video.  It's got speeder bikes!  I guarantee you if I get one I'll be crashing straight into a tree right away.

Those videos make it look so exciting, but when I played the beta I ended up running around and dying more (a lot more) than I did running around killing enemies.  I will probably still pick it up though.  It's out next Tuesday!  I was planning on just buying it from work and using my PC Points, so I won't have to pay anything for it.  I just hope we actually get in in stock and it's actually there on Tuesday.  Sometimes we only get a couple copies of a game and they might even come in late or the next day of the release date.

Or I could go to Best Buy at 10 pm Nov 16th and get it early!

The only reason I'd get it there is to get that awesome toque with the pom-pom.  If you wear it while playing Hoth levels you get a XP boost.

Yep, more Star Wars.

A while ago I wrote about an e-mail I got from Post Foods teasing some sort of Star Wars promotion coming out.  I immediately wondered what it could be and had high hopes of t-shirts and lightsaber spoons. I almost forgot about it, wondered when the hell it was coming out and then at work I saw a pallet drop of Post Star Wars cereals.

I don't even like Honey Bunches of Oats, but it has BB-8 on it, so I had to get it.

I do however like Honeycomb, so I got this one, and it's the Kylo Ren box, so that's a plus.

It even has art on the side of the box.

A cool picture on the back of the box.  Unfortunately, the BB-8 box didn't have reverse artwork.  It was just the same, but in French.

The very bottom of the box also shows all the different Star Wars cereals boxes and the artwork for them.  Collect all 7 boxes!

Wait, that's it?!!  Yep, Post completely wastes the Star Wars license and just gives us Star Wars themed cereals boxes.  Where are the prizes, the toys or stickers?  No PIN codes for a shirt?  No mail away offer?  Not even a cut out Stormtrooper mask on the back of box.  Huge missed opportunity here.  They could've even made an limited edition cereal, BB-8's, which would be orange coloured balls like Corn Pops.  It's like C-3PO's for a new generation.  Then the mail away offer would be a cereal bowl painted up like BB-8.  Post totally screwed this one up, but I'll still eat my cereal, but I won't like it, especially the Honey Bunches of Oats.

Fun fact: way back in 1995 I ate a bunch of Kellogg's Honey Nut Corn Flakes, so I could get enough tokens to send away for the "Making of Star Wars" special on VHS.  It was a special that aired on TV back in 1977 and is included on the blu-ray as a special feature.  The TV and blu-ray version is narrated by William Conrad while the Kellogg's VHS is narrated by movie trailer voice over legend Don LaFontaine.  The LaFontaine Kellogg's version has only seen that one release and wasn't issued on any more formats.  I bet that VHS tape is worth like $100!

Another one??

In case you haven't heard Disney just released a new international Japanese trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  It's quite a bit different and I actually liked it better than the domestic trailer.  Judge for yourselves and check it out.  Also, it will help erase the memories of our last "reaction" video.

The Farce Awakens

Here is the long awaited follow up to our The Force Awakens reaction video.  Unfortunately, it doesn't quite deliver, so don't get too excited.  Our first mistake was giving me dialogue.

Card shark

I was at London Drugs getting some more Border's Chocolate Gingers and I found that they have the Star Wars cards too!  They had two different types of packs, a small pack of six cards and a larger "fat" pack of fourteen cards.  (FYI, the Wal-Mart pack also has fourteen cards in it.)  I bought a fat pack and a regular pack of cards.

My regular six card pack.

Two blue base cards.

My two coloured parallel cards including a Lightsaber neon parallel which is 1:6 packs.  The picture quality isn't the best, but it sure looks pink to me.

I like these sticker cards and their cool retro look!

On the package it says "MORE VALUE" and something about compared to the regular packs.  It's not really that much of a deal.  You can get two regular packs for $6 while the fat pack costs $7, so you are paying $1 more for two more blue cards.  I'd rather get the regular packs and get more insert cards and parallels.  If you are looking to get blue base cards for a set then the fat pack is probably the way to go.

A bunch(forgot to count) of blue base cards.

My two parallels.

Another cool sticker card and an insert card from the Concept Art set.

Okay, I know I was bad mouthing the fat pack and saying I'd rather buy the regular pack of cards, but then I got this card in my fat pack.

A fancy card with a patch in it!  The odds on the patch cards are 1:170 packs, so I guess I hit the jackpot.  I looked up the patch card check list and this is probably the one card I'd want the least out of all of them.  I'd rather had a BB-8, Chewie, Stormtrooper, or R2 card but I guess I shouldn't complain as it's lucky enough to get one.

You can see the patch card is thicker because well patches are thick I guess.

I think the blue prints insert cards are only available at Toys R Us, so that leaves me no choice, but to go there to check it out!
